🍦 Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams in St. Elmo

It's official. Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams opened its first-ever Chattanooga location at 3917 St. Elmo Ave, right at the foot of the Incline Railway. The Columbus-based ice cream institution, known for flavors like Brambleberry Crisp, Gooey Butter Cake, Campfire S'mores, and the new Hibiscus Chili Punch Sorbet, has been one of Chattanooga's most-requested openings for years. This is the brand's first-ever franchise location anywhere in the country, and it's here.

Coming this fall: Nashville's Hattie B's Hot Chicken is heading to Chattanooga, taking over the former Food Works space at Signal Knitting Mills. If you know Hattie B's, you know this is a big deal.

The 2nd Annual Chattanooga Chill Week wraps up this Sunday. Sixteen coffee shops and frozen treat spots across the city are serving $5 iced coffees and $5 frozen treats all week. Hit the link to see the full list of participating spots and their featured items.

🍮 Chattanooga World Food Truck Festival

An all-day food truck festival at Tennessee RiverPark, with trucks serving global flavors, live music from local bands, face painting and inflatables for kids, and a crowd vote to crown the best truck. This is the kind of Saturday Chattanooga was built for. Outdoor, by the water, with good food and nowhere you need to be.

FRIDAY, JULY 10

🛶 Silver Adventures: Downtown Kayak

Outdoor Chattanooga takes you on a leisurely morning paddle past Maclellan Audubon Island, Bluff View Art District, and downtown's historic bridges. All gear and a guide included. Beginner-friendly and one of the better ways to see the city.

🛼 Summer Skate Nights: Y2K Rewind

FREE

This is the one. The city's Summer Skate Night series hits Calvary Pavilion in St. Elmo tonight, and the theme is pure Y2K. Early 2000s pop and hip-hop, a costume contest, and free skate rentals for the first 30 people through the door. Food Trappers Union has the food covered. Pull out your best early-aughts look.

🎶 Nightfall: Road to Nightfall Winner

FREE

Chattanooga's original free Friday night concert series continues at Miller Plaza. This week features the Road to Nightfall competition winner taking the stage. Food trucks, artisan vendors, and lawn games round it out. Show up early, grab a spot, and settle in for the evening.

🌿 Toddler Treks: Tatum Park

FREE

Outdoor Chattanooga and Chattanooga Basics lead a free guided morning walk for kids ages 2–6 and their grown-ups. Hands-on nature discovery, fresh air, and a good excuse to get out early before the heat sets in. Walk-ups welcome.

🛒 Chattanooga River Market

FREE

Dozens of makers from across the region set up at the Tennessee Aquarium Plaza. Jewelry, handmade goods, artisan food, soaps, candles, and more. There's live music and a food truck on-site. Saturday morning downtown doesn't look much better than this.

🌾 Field to Feast July Brunch at Crabtree Farms

A seasonal farm brunch on a working Chattanooga farm, in the spirit of the longtime 100 Dinner Series. Thoughtfully prepared food, the people who grow it, and a table set in a setting you don't usually get to sit at. Worth booking ahead.

🎵 Riverfront Nights: Alabama Tribute

Riverfront Nights is back at Ross's Landing with a free outdoor show. This week it's Boys In The Band, an Alabama tribute act, with Bella and The Boys Band opening. Bring a blanket or a chair, leashed dogs are welcome, and food and drinks are on-site. Saturday evening on the river, free. That's it.

🎬 Bobby Stone Film Series: Double Feature at Walker Theatre

Peach season gets its moment at First Horizon Pavilion. 🌳 Family Fun Day: Power of Parks

FREE

Free canoeing, archery, and nature hikes at Greenway Farm in Hixson, hosted by Outdoor Chattanooga. No registration needed for most activities. Just show up and pick your adventure. Perfect for families who want to close out the weekend outside.

🎨 Sunday Studio at the Hunter Museum

Drop-in art making for kids and families at the Hunter, with projects led by the museum, the Downtown Library, and the Houston Museum. This Sunday also features a special performance by Bella Ballerina dancers. Members and kids 17 and under get in free; adults with a Chattanooga Public Library card also get in free.

🎸 Amy Ray Band (of Indigo Girls) at The Boneyard

This is the Sunday night show. Amy Ray, one half of the legendary Indigo Girls, is bringing her full band to The Boneyard in the Southside. If you know her solo work, you know this is going to be loud and real and exactly what Sunday night should feel like. Get tickets before this sells out.

Weekend road closures – The city has special event road closures planned in and around downtown this weekend. Give yourself extra time getting in, or plan to park and walk.

Josh Gilbert at The Woodshop Saturday – Local singer-songwriter Josh Gilbert plays The Woodshop this Saturday at 7 PM. One of those intimate Chattanooga shows worth catching before everyone else figures out how good he is.

Southside is popping – Chattanooga Pulse dropped a neighborhood deep-dive on the Southside this week. If you haven't explored that corridor lately, use this as your guide.

Harrison Bay Honey Farm feature – Local beekeeper Chip Kelly is profiled out at Harrison Bay. Good read for a Sunday morning with coffee.

Riverfront Nights is your summer plan – It's free, it's by the river, and it's every Saturday this summer. If it's not already on your calendar rotation, fix that.
