🍦 Ice Cream Crawl, All Weekend

The River City Company's 5th annual Ice Cream Crawl celebrates National Ice Cream Day all weekend long. Hit participating spots, scan the QR code, enter the "Mystery Word," and you're automatically entered to win a $100 Chattanooga Express Card and ice cream prize packages.

It's Friday, it's summer, and Nightfall is back at Miller Plaza. Grab something from a food truck, browse the artisan vendor market, and let Link and Chain carry you into the weekend. Night 1 of the Ice Cream Crawl is also tonight, and Miller Plaza is walking distance from several participating shops. Double up.

⚾ Wreckers Weekend: Lookouts vs. Columbus Clingstones

It's Wreckers Weekend at the brand-new Erlanger Park. The Lookouts play as the Chattanooga Wreckers all three games this weekend, saluting hometown inventor Ernest Holmes and the fact that the tow truck was invented right here in Chattanooga. Three-game homestand against the Columbus Clingstones at the new stadium. Very Chattanooga.

❄️ Frozen: The Broadway Musical (Opening Night)

Opening night for the Chattanooga Theatre Centre's production of Disney's Frozen: The Broadway Musical, running through August 2. All the songs from the film plus new music by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Great family option if you've got kids in the mix, and opening night has that first-audience energy. Multiple weekend showings if Friday doesn't work: Sat 7:30 PM, Sun 2:30 PM matinee.

🎸 Same As It Ever Was: Talking Heads Tribute

🌶️ Twilight Hot as Hades Market

The 2nd Annual Hot as Hades Market brings hot peppers, artisan hot sauces, fiery dishes, local makers, and live music from Taylor Levin and Camelcase to the Choo Choo's historic grounds. Hosted by Shop the Market At. A spice-lover's evening at one of the coolest venues in town.

🐟 Fish & Sips at the Tennessee Aquarium

Okay, this one is special. After-hours access to both Aquarium buildings, 10 four-ounce craft beer/cider/seltzer pours from local and regional breweries, complimentary small bites from the Edwin Hotel, and a branded canvas tote, pin, and neck gaiter. All while wandering past otters and sharks at night. Tickets will sell out and are not available at the door, so book now if you want in. Worth every penny.

🎤 Killers of Kill Tony

If you're a comedy nerd, you already know these names. Four Kill Tony breakout alumni (David Lucas, Hans Kim, Timmy No Brakes, and Martin Phillips) at Soldiers & Sailors for a proper ticketed night of stand-up. This is not a bar show. A portion of proceeds benefits the Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

🎵 Riverfront Nights: Back 2 Mac (Fleetwood Mac Tribute)

This week's Riverfront Nights headliner is Back 2 Mac: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac. All the gold-standard classics, river breeze, and Chattanooga summer energy. Rick Rushing & the Blues Strangers open at 7 PM. As an expanded evening, Riverfront Parkway will be closed for extra vendors, food trucks, and activities like doggie pools, cornhole, giant Jenga, and beach volleyball. Free to attend, but show up before it fills up.

🍖 Beast Feast at the Chattanooga Market

Summer BBQ the way it should be: outdoors, free, with cold beer and live music. The Chattanooga Market's signature Sunday takes on a BBQ theme this week, with a curated lineup of food trucks serving BBQ-centric favorites: chicken, pork, beef, dry-rubbed, slathered, spicy to mild. There's a flavor (and a napkin) for everyone. Live music from The Essentials, plus the market's usual full lineup of artisans, farm-fresh food, and local makers. This one's genuinely worth the trip out to Southside. Family-friendly, low-key, excellent food.

🎼 Chanticleer at The Caverns

Here's your one-of-a-kind Sunday event. Chanticleer, the GRAMMY Award-winning ensemble called "the world's reigning male chorus" by the New Yorker, performing inside a mountain in Pelham. Twelve male voices spanning soprano to bass, working through Renaissance, jazz, and contemporary pieces. The acoustic environment inside The Caverns is unlike anything else. This is the kind of thing you'll be glad you went to.

World Food Truck Festival (July 11) – The inaugural Chattanooga World Food Truck Festival rolled out at Tennessee Riverpark with flavors from Italian to Korean to Southern. Big turnout, even bigger lineup. Worth watching for the return edition next summer.

Peach Festival at the Market (July 12) – The Chattanooga Market dedicated their Sunday edition to all things peach. Local growers, peach-forward eats, and a solid afternoon at First Horizon Pavilion.

Chill Week wrapped up (through July 12) – Chattanooga's Chill Week featured $5 iced coffees and frozen treats at 15+ local spots. Chill Week is over, but the Ice Cream Crawl picks right back up this weekend. The universe provides.

Boys in the Band: Alabama Tribute at Riverfront Nights (July 11) – Saturday's Riverfront Nights featured this Alabama tribute act at Ross's Landing. Packed crowd, great vibe. The free summer concert series continues every Saturday through September 5.

Walker Theatre July film series – Walker Theatre ran a killer weekend lineup including Yi Yi, Wait Until Dark, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinema Paradiso. Their summer programming is quietly one of the best things going in Chattanooga arts.
